Knutsford Express connects major Jamaican towns by scheduled coach, with passenger locations from New Kingston and Montego Bay to Ocho Rios, Mandeville, Negril, Port Antonio and other stops. Popular routes take about two to four hours, depending on the departure and road conditions. Fares are route-specific, one way and per passenger, with prices shown in Jamaican dollars or United States dollars. You choose the travel date, route, passenger category and currency before paying.

Where Knutsford Express goes

Knutsford Express operates a network linking Kingston, Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, Mandeville, Negril, Falmouth, Savanna-la-Mar, Luana, Gutters, Port Antonio, Port Maria, Annotto Bay and other Jamaican locations.

Check that your ticket names the passenger location, since courier counters also exist.

The main passenger locations include:

  • New Kingston, at 18 Dominica Drive in the New Kingston Shopping Center parking lot.
  • Montego Bay Airport, at Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.
  • Montego Bay, at 10 Harbour Circle near Pier 1; check that your ticket names it as the passenger location, since Knutsford also runs courier counters.
  • Drax Hall, at Lot 12 Drax Hall Estates, Drax Hall, St. Ann.
  • Falmouth, at Florence Hall Business Centre, Rock, Falmouth, Trelawny.
  • Savanna-la-Mar, at Shop 15, Howie’s Plaza, Dunbar’s River, Westmoreland.
  • Negril, next to the Eezy Ice Factory, with access across from Beaches Negril.
  • Luana, on Luana Main Road at the Total Gas Station and Juici Patties Rest Stop.

The Knutsford Express locations and opening hours page separates passenger locations from courier locations. Read the location attached to your booking carefully, especially for Ocho Rios, Montego Bay Pier 1, Washington Boulevard, Harbour View and Portmore.

For Kingston trips, the Kingston parish transport operators page is useful when you need a taxi or another service at the beginning or end of your coach trip. For routes through the north coast, you can also compare local transport in St. Ann and St. James.

How the schedule works

Knutsford Express uses a route-and-date schedule search rather than one fixed frequency chart for every route. You select:

  • Origin
  • Destination
  • Travel date
  • Passenger categories

The booking system then shows the available departure options for that date. This matters because the number and timing of departures can change by route, weekday and selected date. For Kingston to Montego Bay, Ocho Rios, Mandeville or Negril, use the live schedule or booking tool before making plans around work, accommodation or a flight.

Some trips involve a connection when no direct coach is available. Each coach is booked separately, and the connection time is approximate. A seat on the second coach is not held until that part of the booking is completed, so read the full itinerary before paying.

The Knutsford Express schedule lets you search by route and date. You can also call or message the operator at +1-876-971-1822.

Main routes and travel times

The exact arrival time appears with the selected departure. For popular routes, Knutsford Express gives an estimated travel range of about two to four hours. The actual time can change with traffic, weather, road conditions, stops and connections.

Estimated travel time on popular routes is about two to four hours.

Montego Bay to Kingston

This is one of the main cross-island coach trips. Departures use the Montego Bay passenger location selected in your booking and arrive at the Kingston location shown on your ticket, usually the New Kingston terminal at 18 Dominica Drive.

If your final destination is in central Kingston, arrange your onward taxi or local bus from New Kingston. The scheduled coach service is office-to-office, so hotel drop-off is arranged separately.

For other ways to make this trip, see Montego Bay to Kingston, Jamaica: Every Way to Make the Trip.

Kingston to Ocho Rios

Knutsford Express lists Ocho Rios as a passenger location at Shop 18, Ocean Village Shopping Center. The route is useful for residents travelling between Kingston and the north coast, as well as visitors changing towns after arriving in Kingston.

The number of departures depends on the travel date. Select Kingston, Ocho Rios and your date to see the available times and fare. If you want a food stop on this stretch of road, see Faith’s Pen, the roadside food stop between Kingston and Ocho Rios.

You can compare the coach with other options in Kingston to Ocho Rios, Jamaica: Coach, JUTC, Route Taxi or Car.

Kingston to Mandeville

Mandeville passengers use Shop 1, Pear Tree Plaza, Caledonia Road. The fare and departure times depend on direction, date, passenger category and currency.

If you are travelling for work or an appointment, choose the date first and allow time to reach the terminal before departure. Keep the selected terminal address with your ticket because the booking location is part of the trip details.

Kingston to Negril

Negril passengers use the location next to the Eezy Ice Factory, accessed across from Beaches Negril. A coach to Negril may be direct or may involve a connection, depending on the date and route selected.

If the coach arrives in Negril and you are staying elsewhere along the west coast, arrange the final taxi separately. The Westmoreland transport operators page can help you find local options for the last part of your trip.

Montego Bay to Ocho Rios and north-coast stops

Knutsford Express lists Drax Hall, Ocho Rios, Falmouth and other north-coast locations. Your booking will show whether the selected trip is direct or connects through another terminal.

Falmouth passengers use Florence Hall Business Centre in Trelawny. This can suit visitors heading to or from the cruise area, but your ticket should identify the exact stop you are using. For local transport around the port, see Falmouth Cruise Port, Jamaica: Taxis, Tours and Getting Around.

Fares, passenger categories and currency

Knutsford Express fares are quoted per passenger and one way. The fare table supports Jamaican dollar and United States dollar display options. Keep the currency selected during booking with your payment record, and do not combine a JMD fare with a USD fare when comparing routes.

The operator lists these passenger categories:

Tap a row to highlight it, or a column heading to sort.

Category Who and what to carry
Adult Standard fare
Child, ages 2 to 12 Discounted fare and their own seat
Senior, age 65 and over Valid photo identification showing year of birth
Student Valid local university identification card

A child under age 2 may travel free on an adult’s lap.

The exact fare changes with the route, direction, passenger category, selected currency and any promotion or special rate. Select the route and date in the fare or booking tool, then retain the displayed total before payment.

Knutsford states that listed fares are one way. A return trip therefore requires the fare for the opposite direction as well. Special luggage arrangements may apply to university students during May, August and September.

Luggage and coach amenities

Knutsford Express allows one checked piece of luggage weighing no more than 50 pounds, plus one carry-on. Additional luggage attracts a fee. Local university students may receive two additional checked bags during May, August and September, for a total of three checked bags and one carry-on, subject to the regular weight and size rules.

One checked piece up to 50 pounds and one carry-on are included.

The coaches list reclining seats, overhead storage, onboard restrooms, power outlets, Wi-Fi and a bottle of water.

If you are travelling with several bags, a musical instrument, a large item or a mobility device, give the operator the number, size and weight before paying. Ask whether the item can travel on the exact departure you selected and what additional fee applies.

Booking and paying

You can book Knutsford Express in four ways:

  • Through the operator’s website
  • Through the Knutsford Express mobile app
  • At an office or terminal
  • By WhatsApp or telephone at +1-876-971-1822

Online booking requires the origin, destination, travel date, departure option and passenger categories. At an office, payment can be made by cash, debit card or credit card. Knutsford lists Visa, Mastercard and Discover among its accepted credit cards.

For a connecting trip, complete each bus booking separately. Check that the connection leaves enough time for passengers to move between buses, collect or manage luggage and board the second departure.

Plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before departure so you have time to find the terminal, handle luggage and board, especially when you are travelling with children or several passengers.

Tickets are not refundable but remain valid for six months from purchase. A ticket may be used for the same route or a route of equal or lesser value, with a J$300 date-change fee. A higher-value route requires payment of the difference. If you miss the coach, contact Knutsford Express before departure or immediately afterward and ask about the available change or rebooking option for your ticket.

Airport connections

Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay

Knutsford Express lists a Montego Bay Airport terminal next to Sangster International Airport. When booking a trip to or from the airport, select the Montego Bay Airport branch shown in the booking options. If you land hungry, here is where to eat near Sangster International Airport.

Allow time for baggage collection, immigration, airport walking time and the coach check-in period. If you are leaving Jamaica by air, choose a coach that gives you enough time before your flight rather than relying on the shortest possible connection.

For the onward trip from the airport to a hotel, see Montego Bay Airport to Your Hotel: Getting to the Hip Strip, Rose Hall and Ironshore, Jamaica.

Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston

Knutsford Connect provides a separate airport shuttle between the New Kingston terminal and Norman Manley International Airport.

The published price is as low as US$10 or J$1,300, each a separate published price in its own currency. Ask Knutsford Connect whether the price is per passenger for your party.

For local airport options, see Kingston Airport to New Kingston, Jamaica: Taxis, Buses and Fares.

Families, groups and mobility needs

Children ages 2 to 12 receive a seat and a discounted fare. Children under age 2 may travel on an adult’s lap without a fare.

Allow time at the terminal when you travel with children or several passengers.

For a group, enter the full passenger count and each category in the booking. If the trip connects, check the passenger count on both coach bookings and make sure the luggage arrangements apply to each part.

If you use a wheelchair or another mobility device, ask these exact questions before payment:

  • Does the selected coach have accessible boarding?
  • Can the wheelchair be stored during the trip?
  • What are the maximum dimensions and weight?
  • Can the passenger remain in the wheelchair during boarding or travel?
  • Is assistance available at the departure terminal?
  • Does the connecting coach have the same arrangement?
  • Can a child safety seat be used on the coach?

Child-seat availability, vehicle size, boarding-ramp details and wheelchair storage rules need to be arranged for the particular departure. Confirm the selected departure with Knutsford Express before you travel.

Hurricane Melissa and current transport status

Jamaica’s airports and cruise ports are operating after the October 2025 impact of Hurricane Melissa.

Sangster International Airport closed before the storm. Relief flights resumed on October 30, 2025, and commercial operations resumed on November 1, 2025. Norman Manley International Airport and Ian Fleming International Airport resumed operations shortly after the storm. Government reporting in December 2025 said Airports Authority-managed airports had returned to normal operations.

Ports reopened in stages: Kingston Harbour on October 29, Montego Bay, Portland Bight and Rocky Point on October 31, Rio Bueno and Discovery Bay on November 1, and Ocho Rios, Port Antonio and Falmouth on November 3.

On October 31, 2025, the National Works Agency reported 195 road corridors as impassable, with 93 cleared or reopened to single-lane or full access. Jamaica’s visitor travel-alert page later stated that international and domestic airports and cruise ports were operational, with most main tourist roads experiencing limited damage. The Tourism Ministry reported on May 7, 2026 that airports and cruise ports had been fully reactivated.
